22:50 CET - Real Madrid have completed a remarkable turnaround in Rome, scoring three goals in eight minutes to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. Antonio Rudiger looks to be the matchwinner.

22:46 CET - Real Madrid have scored two goals in three minutes to fight back and make it 3-3, and they still have five minutes plus added time left!

22:36 CET - Erling Haaland has done it again, scoring his second of the game to reduce the deficit to 4-2. 61 goals in 60 Champions League games now. They have just over 10 minutes left to get a result.

22:24 CET - 4-1 PSG! Maghnes Akliouche has got himself on the scoresheet after former PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma got a huge hand to his strike, before the ball bobbled over the line in bizarre fashion. The Italian isn't having a good game at all.

22:17 CET - Donyell Malen has done it again for Roma! His second goal of the game has put them 3-1 up against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid, and on track for a massive win.

22:14 CET - Erling Haaland has got his customary strike for Manchester City, pulling a goal back with a lovely flicked header. He now has 60 goals in 60 Champions League games. Comeback on?

22:10 CET - There have been two goals in a matter of minutes, with last year's surprise packages Bodo/Glimt going 1-0 up against Borussia Dortmund, and Roma taking a 2-1 lead against Real Madrid courtesy of Donyell Malen.

21:52 CET - It's half-time around the grounds, and all eyes are on Manchester, where PSG lead City 3-0 after a sublime first-half performance.

Over in Rome, it's all square between Real Madrid and Roma (1-1), with Kylian Mbappe on the scoresheet. In Birmingham, Aston Villa are smashing Fenerbahce 3-0, while Stuttgart are ahead at Slovan Bratislava.

All the other matches are level - see all the scores and stats here.

21:35 CET - PSG ARE PURRING, THEY HAVE A THIRD! Manchester City are being torn to pieces at home, with Vitinha now scoring a brilliant goal from the edge of the area to put the Champions League holders into a 3-0 lead. It's not even half-time yet; this is a schooling.

21:26 CET - Kylian Mbappe has only needed five minutes to put Real Madrid back on level terms, after they conceded against Roma. All square at the Olimpico.

21:21 CET - Over in Italy, AS Roma have taken a surprise lead against Real Madrid through Marten de Roon.

21:16 CET - PSG HAVE A SECOND! Oh my days, Ousmane Dembele has headed PSG into a shock 2-0 lead. Barely minutes after opening the scoring, Luis Enrique's scintillating side have doubled their lead. The Etihad is shell-shocked.

21:14 CET - PSG HAVE BROKEN THE DEADLOCK EARLY! We have our first goal in Manchester, but it's come from the visitors, with Desire Doue arrowing a shot into the bottom left corner of the Man City goal after a brilliant full-pitch buildup.

20:36 CET - Liverpool have thrashed LASK Linz 6-3 in Austria to continue their perfect start to the league phase, with Bradley Barcola scoring a sublime hat-trick and his first goals for the Reds. 20:20 CET - LASK substitute Florian Flecker has just scored a second goal in a few minutes to make it 6-3 against Liverpool. Well, this is starting to reflect a little poorly on the Reds' defence, isn't it?

20:17 CET - Maybe not as ugly as we thought, LASK have pulled another back to make it 'only' 6-2. There's still 15 minutes to go in this one; how many goals will we get?!

20:14 CET - Make it six... Lewis Koumas has marked his Champions League debut with a goal for Liverpool to make it 6-1 against LASK. This is getting ugly...

20:09 CET - Bradley Barcola has scored a third for Liverpool, firmly putting his stamp on this match in Linz as well as announcing himself loudly to the Reds fanbase. He hadn't scored for the club before today; he's now got three!

20:05 CET - LASK have a goal back against Liverpool, making it 4-1 in Linz. Something to celebrate for the home fans! Over in Rotterdam, Feyenoord lead Como 2-1.

20:00 CET - You might have seen the breaking news that Vinicius Junior has been banned for four matches in Spain for pulling hair, and will miss the upcoming Clasico. However, the Brazilian does start tonight for Los Blancos in a star-studded lineup away to Roma.

19:55 CET - While we were previewing City vs PSG, Liverpool went and added a fourth goal to their tally, thanks to Jeremie Frimpong. It's a thrashing in Linz, unfortunately.

19:50 CET - We've got a feast of football coming up with five late games this evening in Europe, and the pick of the bunch is undoubtedly Manchester City vs Paris Saint-Germain.

The Cityzens have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late, given the extremely serious charges levelled against the organisation that could result in unprecedented punishments domestically. With all that going on, it's easy to forget they are in incredible form, having won eight matches on the spin since the Community Shield.

PSG are, of course, the Champions League holders, but suffered a shaky start to the season in France. Regardless, this is a proper heavyweight bout between two giants of the continent.

19:38 CET - We've reached the halfway stage in tonight's two early kick-offs, and Liverpool have enjoyed a dream opening 45 minutes in Linz, with Bradley Barcola netting a clinical brace and Ronald Araujo nodding in from a corner.

Ryan Gravenberch has also hit the woodwork for the rampant Reds, while Florian Wirtz has pulled the strings impressively in midfield.

Meanwhile, in Rotterdam, Feyenoord and Como are locked at a goal apiece after strikes from Assane Diao and Gjivai Zechiel.

19:10 CET - Ronald Araujo and Bradley Barcola have scored their first Liverpool goals to put the Reds in cruise control against LASK after 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, in Rotterdam, Assane Diao's opener for Como has been quickly cancelled out by an equaliser from Feyenoord's Gjivai Zechiel.

18:48 CET - We're now underway in both Linz and Rotterdam. Stay tuned for all the latest updates!

18:03 CET - Tonight's other early kick-off sees Como travel to Rotterdam to take on Feyenoord, with Cesc Fabregas' side looking to become just the third Italian team to win their opening two Champions League matches.

As for Eredivisie leaders Feyenoord, they'll be keen to bounce back from a humbling 5-1 defeat to Barcelona on matchday one.

17:42 CET - Having seen off Atletico Madrid in their opening league phase match, Liverpool will be determined to make it two wins from two when they take on LASK tonight.

Andoni Iraola has made four changes from Sunday's chastening defeat to Man City, with Jeremie Frimpong, Kostas Tsimikas, Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha coming into the team, while Virgil van Dijk is among those to drop out.

23:18 CET - And, breathe.

What a night of football that was across the continent, with goals galore and two big upsets.

The fun's not over yet, either, with more action on the way tomorrow, and we'll be back here to cover it all. See you then!

23:08 CET - Galatasaray looked as if they were going to pull off an upset of their own at one point, but Barcelona pulled off a comeback to claim a 4-1 win.

Fellow LaLiga side Atletico Madrid also claimed all three points, piling the misery on Michael Carrick and his out-of-form Man Utd side, while Arsenal, Villarreal and RB Leipzig all won on home turf against Lille, Napoli and PSV respectively.

23:02 CET - Viking weren't the only underdogs to enjoy a night to remember, with Club Brugge going one better by claiming a thrilling 4-3 win away to Italian champions Inter.

Young German striker Nicolo Tresoldi was the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick to continue his stunning start to the season.

22:57 CET - That's a wrap on a dramatic night of Champions League football, and the big story is that Viking have claimed a late draw against German giants Bayern!

The fairytale looked to have been nipped in the bud when Bayern fought back from 2-0 down to lead, but the Norwegians kept their heads up and ultimately snatched a famous point.

22:50 CET - VIKING EQUALISE AT THE DEATH!

A red card for Michael Olise allowed the underdogs to apply some late pressure, and they've made it count! Herman Haugen has scored to surely seal a famous draw!

22:35 CET - Tresoldi bags a hat-trick! The Club Brugge striker has made it 3-1 at the San Siro to surely give his side a famous win!

Tresoldi now has as many goals in the CL (four) as he did in the whole campaign last year.

22:31 CET - And there's the third goal from Bayern, with Luis Diaz completing the turnaround in Norway after a stunning ball from Kane, who has once again been in inspired form tonight.

22:27 CET - Last year's runners-up have finally broken the deadlock at the Emirates, with Jurrien Timber and Eberechi Eze putting Arsenal on the path to victory.

22:23 CET - Viking's hopes of claiming a famous win are slipping away, with a quickfire double from Harry Kane drawing Bayern level.

There's still hope of one big upset, though, with Club Brugge now leading Inter 2-1.

22:15 CET - Barcelona have made a flying start to the second half in Istanbul, with goals from Fermin Lopez and Anthony Gordon - both set up by Lamine Yamal - giving them a commanding lead.

21:45 CET - Time to cool off on the fairytales; two of the giants are back in the game. Barcelona have levelled against Galatasaray thanks to Joao Cancelo, whilst Lautaro Martinez has answered back for Inter at the expense of Club Brugge.

That brings an end to a memorable first half across the continent - let's catch you up.

Atletico Madrid nearly made it 2-0 before the break, only for VAR to intervene and rule out Johnny Cardoso's effort for handball, leaving the LaLiga side 1-0 up against Manchester United.

Arsenal remain goalless against Lille, whilst the only other game without a goal is RB Leipzig and PSV, but the Dutch side have missed from the spot in the first half.

Viking are stunning Bayern at home, as they lead 2-0 at the break, whilst Villarreal are 2-1 up against Napoli, in part because of Santiago Mourino's wonder strike.

21:39 CET - This is turning into a special Champions League night! On the counter, Viking rip Bayern apart, and Peter Christiansen nets his 14th goal of the season to double their lead! Incredible scenes as they bounce in the stands in Norway.

21:35 CET - Make that 2-0 to Galatasaray! It's rocking in Istanbul, as the Turkish side double their advantage through talisman Victor Osimhen after he heads in a teasing corner. Or not, put those fireworks away for now, it's been ruled out for offside...

21:31 CET - Club Brugge's main man, Nicolo Tresoldi, has netted from the spot to put the Belgian side 1-0 up at San Siro against Inter. It's the German's second goal in as many Champions League games this season, and he looks good to beat his mark of four from last year.

This could be an evening of shocks in the Champions League - Galatasaray have taken the lead against Barcelona through Alexey Batrakov.

21:27 CET - Make that 2-1 to Villarreal! They have taken the lead against Napoli with Santiago Mourino getting on the scoresheet.

It's a beauty of a strike from the right-back as he rifles into the top corner from all of 25 yards!

21:25 CET - As Lille see a goal chalked off for a strange offside call, which is right, Villarreal are back level against Napoli through Georgian striker Georges Mikautadze - his first goal in the competition this campaign.

21:11 CET - It's been a bright start from Napoli at Villarreal, and they have their reward with Amir Rrahmani netting inside 10 minutes, showing quick reactions to spin and shoot after hitting the bar with a header.

21:01 CET - An emotional Wanda Metropolitano is jubilant inside a minute, as Pablo Barrios gives them the lead against Manchester United with a silky side-footed finish.

Elsewhere, Sporting CP also came through to win, beating Lens 2-0.

Mikel Arteta has rotated his side, with Mikel Merino, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze all coming in for starts, whilst the Ligue 1 outfit have former Gunner, Olivier Giroud on the bench. If he does get on the pitch tonight, expect a rapturous reception.

Meanwhile, history is brewing in Baku as we near the hour mark. Sabah have the lead after a tidy finish from Kaheem Parris to lead 1-0 against Slavia Prague. The Azeri side are living dangerously, as the Czech side continue to pepper the goal without any reward. If they can hold on, it will be their maiden win in the competition.

19:53 CET - Over to Istanbul, where Galatasaray take on Barcelona in what feels like a uniquely Champions League match-up.

After resting over the weekend, Victor Osimhen comes back into the starting lineup for the Turkish side, whilst Hansi Flick has gone strong with Lamine Yamal and Anthony Gordon in from the start, but Raphinha misses out with a muscle injury.

19:47 CET - With the second halves underway in northern France and in Baku, let's bring you some team news from around the rest of Europe.

In Madrid, Atletico take on Manchester United, where Koke is missing from the matchday squad after it was announced earlier today that his mother had passed away.

Julian Alvarez starts for Atleti, whilst Michael Carrick has rung the changes - five in all - from his side's 1-1 draw against Tottenham at the weekend.

19:32 CET - Half-time across the two games, and it remains goalless between Sabah and Slavia, despite good chances for both sides. The best has fallen to Tomas Chory, but the Czech striker scuffed his first effort before his second was blocked on the line. The Azeri side have looked shaky in possession when playing out from the back, but Rwanda international Joy-Lance Mickels has looked a threat when given space to run.

Sporting, meanwhile, lead Lens 1-0 through that effort from Luiz Suarez.

19:09 CET - Lens have paid for their earlier wastefulness as they fall a goal behind to Sporting CP.

Colombian striker Luis Suarez has the opener - he nips in at the near post to poke it home in the 22nd minute.

19:00 CET - Lens are in total control against Sporting CP. They have racked up an xG of 0.84, and created one big chance so far, whilst their Portuguese opponents have yet to register a shot in anger. If you're the French side, you will want to strike whilst the iron is hot.

Meanwhile, Sabah have had the ball in the net through Jamaica international Kaheem Parris, but VAR has ruled the goal out for offside in the build-up. A let-off for Slavia.

18:45 CET - We are underway in our two openers, ahead of a main course later. Here we go!

18:35 CET - Just under 10 minutes to go until our first two games of matchday two, and it's a huge night for Sabah Baku. They are playing their first-ever home game in the competition, and have a winnable tie against Slavia Prague.

Both sides lost their opener, and will be looking to bounce back tonight.
