FC Twente came close to European glory in the 1970s, when Borussia Monchengladbach beat them in the UEFA Cup final. Twente have only appeared once in the UEFA Conference League, beating Bodo/Glimt before being eliminated by Aston Villa in the round of 16 of the 2023/24 season.
