The Shanghai Masters second week continues today with Jakub Mensik and Alexander Zverev headlining the fourth-round action. Meanwhile, the final WTA 1000 event of the year continues in Wuhan, and ScoresStat's Tennis Tracker will keep you updated on all the latest.

17:50 CET - It's turning into a dream run in Wuhan for Slovak 17-year-old Mia Pohankova. She has beaten home hero Wang Xiyu in a near three-hour marathon to qualify for the last 16, thanks to a 7-6(2), 6-7(7), 6-1 victory.

The Chinese star made 48 unforced errors across the contest, going somewhere to show how she was beaten by the teenager.

We will be back tomorrow morning for more of the Asian swing on the ATP and WTA tours.

17:15 CET - A slog of a game comes to an end in Shanghai as Alejandro Davidovich Fokina manages to outlast Hubert Hurkacz in 126 minutes. The Spaniard won their encounter 1-6, 6-3, 7-6(6).

14:55 CET - In his first match since being confirmed as the year-end world number one, Alexander Zverev has battled past Alexander Bublik after just under three hours, prevailing 7-6(6), 4-6, 7-6.

Bublik played excellently, only having his serve broken once, and had four set points in the opener - if he had taken one of them, we may well be talking about a different result right now.

Ultimately though, Zverev delivered in the two crucial tiebreaks, and marches into the last eight as a result, where he will face De Minaur, the man he lost to at the Laver Cup last month.

13:20 CET - Sticking with Wuhan and Maria Sakkari has caused a mini upset after winning a three-set battle 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 against eighth seed Marta Kostyuk.

12:18 CET - The 14th seed has fallen in Wuhan, with Elise Mertens losing 6-4, 7-5 to Daria Snigur of Ukraine.

Former top-10 player Daria Kasatkina is also out, with Jelena Ostapenko storming to a 6-1, 6-1 victory in barely an hour.

11:00 CET - The first major result of the morning in Wuhan comes from Diana Shnaider brushing aside British number one Katie Boulter in an hour and a half.

The defeat is the latest in a long list of early-round exits for Boulter in what has been a miserable end to her 2026 season. As for Shnaider, it might just be the confidence-boosting resounding win she needs to kick-start her Asian Swing.

10:05 CET - The first big shock of the day comes from Shanghai as exciting talent and 13th seed Jakub Mensik has lost in straight sets against France's Arthur Gea.

It is another setback for Mensik after losing in his second match in Beijing at the start of his Asian Swing journey, but for Gea, it is another giant-killing after he stunned Ben Shelton in the previous round.

Anything is possible now for Gea in a tournament where all logic seems to be going out the window, and anyone can seemingly beat anyone.

07:50 CET - Good morning, and welcome to a fascinating day of action at the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters. With world number one Alexander Zverev and rising star Jakub Mensik both in action later this morning, there is plenty to look forward to.

There has been one match already this morning and it saw Alex de Minaur become the first quarter-finalist at the 2026 Shanghai Masters after the Australian made light work of Karen Khachanov in under an hour and a half.

More first-round action from Wuhan is also on the cards this morning, with Diana Shnaider, rising star Nikola Bartunkova, and red-hot Elise Mertens all taking to the court.
