17:10 CET - Ann Li is the final winner of the day in Wuhan, with the American completing the quarter-final lineup courtesy of a 6-1, 7-6(1) triumph over Janice Tjen.
It's a first career WTA 1000 quarter-final for Li, who takes on seventh seed Iga Swiatek next.
15:04 CET - Iga Swiatek's quest to qualify for the WTA Finals continues, after the Pole coasted to a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ashlyn Krueger in Wuhan.
The Pole was far too good for the American, and despite hitting nine winners to Krueger's 16, Swiatek only made 27 unforced errors compared to her opponent's 44.
If Swiatek wins this tournament, she will sneak ahead of Karolina Muchova for the final spot at the WTA Finals in Indian Wells. A lot is on the line for her this week.
13:33 CET - Top seed Alexander Zverev has motored into the Shanghai semi-finals, claiming a 6-4, 6-4 win over Alex De Minaur in an hour and a quarter. It is his fifth Masters 1000 last-four appearance of the year.
The German kept up his astonishing serving numbers, landing 80% first serves and hitting 10 aces. He also saved all five break points faced.
The Roland Garros and US Open champion will now take on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina for a spot in the final.

13:13 CET - World number 170 Sonay Kartal is through to the Wuhan quarter-finals, with the Brit dismantling 15th seed Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-0 in just 64 minutes.
Kartal, who hit 14 winners to just eight unforced errors against Paolini, becomes the lowest-ranked player to reach the last-eight stage at the Wuhan Open since the tournament's inception in 2014.
The 24-year-old faces Ukrainian fifth seed Elina Svitolina next.

Ostapenko fired 26 winners to Fernandez's 18 and created 17 break-point opportunities compared to the Canadian's six.
It is the Latvian's third WTA 1000 quarter-final of the year, and her first in Wuhan in nine years. She will face Diana Shnaider for the very first time in the next round, with a massive opportunity for both players to reach the last four.
10:28 CET - Poland's Maja Chwalinska has secured her biggest win since reaching the French Open final earlier this year, with the 25-year-old beating American sensation Iva Jovic 6-4, 6-1 in Wuhan.
It's a maiden WTA 1000 quarter-final for the Pole, who will face Greece's Maria Sakkari next, after the former world number three dispatched Mia Pohankova in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.

09:10 CET - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is through to the Shanghai Masters semi-finals after his opponent, Arthur Gea, was sadly forced to retire just five games into their last-eight clash.
It's a fourth career Masters 1000 semi-final for the Spaniard, who will face either top seed Alexander Zverev or Australia's Alex de Minaur for a place in the showpiece event.
08:56 CET - Fifth seed Elina Svitolina has sealed her place in the Wuhan quarter-finals after a fairly routine 6-1, 6-4 win over China's Hanyu Guo.
Svitolina converted 85% of points behind her first serve and broke Guo seven times across the two sets, as the Ukrainian moves through to her sixth WTA 1000 quarter-final of 2026.

07:40 CET - Good morning and welcome to our coverage of today’s tennis in Shanghai and Wuhan!
The first of today's two quarter-finals gets underway in just under an hour, as Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina takes on surprise package Arthur Gea, with the Frenchman looking to continue his remarkable run after wins over Ben Shelton and Jakub Mensik en route to the last eight.
Following that clash, top seed and soon-to-be world number one Alexander Zverev comes up against Alex de Minaur, as the Aussie looks to continue his pursuit of an ATP Finals berth in Turin next month.
Meanwhile, in Wuhan, it's a busy morning of fourth-round action, with 11th seed Diana Shnaider already through to the quarter-finals after an impressive 7-5, 6-3 triumph over sixth seed Karolina Muchova.
