15:20 CET - That's all from across Asia today; the tournaments are thinning out as we head into the weekend with just four players standing in Wuhan and Shanghai, respectively.

14:52 CET - Seventh seed Iga Swiatek has downed American Ann Li 6-4, 6-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Wuhan Open, where she will take on Maja Chwalinska.
Li had a good run in Wuhan, notably dumping Aryna Sabalenka out in the second round, but she was found wanting today, winning none of her three break points and committing 43 unforced errors.
Given all the upsets that have come over the week, Swiatek is the highest seed remaining in China and will fancy her chances of lifting a 13th WTA 1000 title on Sunday, which she might just have to do to qualify for the season-ending Finals.

14:18 CET - Mercurial Russian Daniil Medvedev has beaten Tommy Paul 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to set up a Shanghai Masters semi-final with Rafael Jodar.
Despite not really showing up for the second set, Medvedev otherwise brushed the American side, sending down 16 aces and 31 winners in the victory, which sends him through to the final four of a Tour-level event for the 70th time.
His semi-final meeting with Jodar tomorrow promises to be a clash of explosive personalities and one not to miss. Ballboys, look out!

12:23 CET - French Open finalist Maja Chwalinska is through to the last four in Wuhan, with the Pole proving too strong for former world number three Maria Sakkari in a tense deciding set, 6-0, 3-6, 7-5.
Having struggled for form and fitness since her run to the Roland Garros showpiece in June, Chwalinska is looking back to her best in China, hitting 25 winners and saving four of five break-point opportunities against Sakkari.
She'll now face either compatriot Iga Swiatek or American Ann Li for a place in the WTA 1000 final.

11:10 CET - Spanish sensation Rafael Jodar has advanced to the Shanghai Masters semi-finals after recovering from a set down to outlast Casper Ruud 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Jodar fired down 28 winners and converted 76% of first serve points, becoming the youngest Shanghai semi-finalist ever, while boosting his chances of a berth in the ATP Finals next month.
The 20-year-old will face either fifth seed Daniil Medvedev or American Tommy Paul for a place in Sunday's final.

09:24 CET - Sonay Kartal's incredible run in Wuhan shows no signs of slowing down, with the Brit seeing off fifth seed Elina Svitolina 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to seal her place in a first-ever WTA 1000 semi-final.
Having already beaten Belinda Bencic and Jasmine Paolini en route to the last eight, the world number 170 once again rose to the occasion against Svitolina, saving five of seven break-point opportunities to set up a last-four meeting with Jelena Ostapenko.

07:20 CET - Good morning and welcome to our coverage of today’s tennis at the Shanghai Masters and Wuhan Open!
After Alexander Zverev and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina sealed their spots in the last four yesterday, the remaining two Shanghai quarter-finals take place over the next few hours.
First, Rafael Jodar faces Norway's Casper Ruud, as the Spanish sensation looks to move a step closer to a top-10 debut and a place at the ATP Finals next month. That clash is due to get underway at 08:30 CET.
Following that match, former champion Daniil Medvedev takes on Tommy Paul, as the in-form Russian targets a fifth win in six head-to-head meetings with the American.

Meanwhile, in Wuhan, all four women's quarter-finals take place today, with Jelena Ostapenko already through to the final four after an impressive 7-6(6), 6-1 triumph over Diana Shnaider.
Fifth seed Elina Svitolina is currently on court against surprise package Sonay Kartal. You can follow that match right here.
Later on, French Open runner-up Maja Chwalinska takes on Greece's Maria Sakkari, before seventh seed Iga Swiatek comes up against Aryna Sabalenka's conqueror, Ann Li, with the Pole looking to continue her last-ditch attempt at qualifying for the WTA Finals.
